In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must demonstrate a commitment to community service and participation in academic or community groups, organizations, and associations.
  2. Must reside in Pinellas County, Florida.
  3. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.

Additional Information: This scholarship is provided each year by the Rose family in memory of Scott and Joan Rose, who were always active participants in community organization and public service opportunities. In turn, this scholarship will be awarded to a Pinellas County high school senior who demonstrates a similar involvement with community activity. Academic merit and financial need will also be considered during the selection of this award.

Award Amount: $800 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $800.

Applications and information about this award are available online at the Pinellas Education Foundation website using the link provided. To be considered for this award, students must complete an online application form consisting of 12 steps. Completed applications will include information about the following items: the student's academic record; participation in community, service, and extracurricular activities; financial need as detailed in the Student Aid Report obtained by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); information about subjects the student is interested in through a list of prospective majors; as well as the names of any colleges or universities the student has applied to or been accepted to. The student's academic information may be sent directly from his/her high school. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
