In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and demonstrate financial need.
  2. Must intend to become a teacher in a high-need field or shortage area.
  3. Must be enrolled as an undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, or graduate student at a school that participates in a TEACH Grant-eligible Program.

Additional Information: Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant gives each year a type of federal financial aid that is not based on need. It awards $4,000 per year to students studying in an eligible program. Students must also agree to teach in a high-need field as a certified teacher. They must commit to teach in this field for at least four years. Each student signs a service agreement to this effect. There is also required counseling to complete before receiving a TEACH Grant. apllicant must be enrolled as an undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, or graduate student at a school that participates in a TEACH Grant-eligible Program.

Award Amount: For any 2020-21 TEACH Grant first disbursed on or after Oct. 1, 2020, and before Oct. 1, 2021, the maximum award of $4,000 is reduced by 5.7% ($228), resulting in a maximum award of $3,772.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $11,316.

Applicants must apply for a TEACH Grant, will need to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
