In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Maryland.
  3. Must attend an approved private career school in Maryland.
  4. Must be enrolled or plan to enroll for 18 or more clock hours per week.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  6. Must be a high school senior or older.
  7. Must demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: Awards are made on the basis of need, as demonstrated by completing the FAFSA.

Award Amount: Up to $500 annually, renewable for one additional year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Additional information about this program is available from the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) website. To apply, interested students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. The FAFSA must be completed as soon as possible after January 1 and filed by March 1 for award consideration for the award year. Each participating college may require additional application materials. Awards are accepted by the state throughout the year, although individual schools may set deadlines for each year's financial aid. Students must contact his/her institution’s financial aid office for additional details.
