Number of Awards & Eligibility: An average of one award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be a high school senior who will earn a diploma or GED by the start of the upcoming school year.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must reside in Caledonia, Essex, Orange, Orleans, or Windsor counties in Vermont.
  6. Must face significant barriers or obstacles that limit his/her access to education after high school.

Additional Information: This scholarship was established to honor the life and work of Edgar May. Please note: This scholarship is funded by an endowment subject to laws restricting disbursements under certain investment yield scenarios; as a result, there can be no guarantee of a scholarship award for the upcoming academic year. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on financial need and application documents. There are approximately 160 applicants for this award each year.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
