Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered each year varies based on the amount of funding available. The funding level typically allows about 1 in 3 eligible students to be assisted.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a Kansas resident.
  3. Must attend an eligible private or public college or university in Kansas.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  6. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to Kansas undergraduate students who are enrolled at an eligible Kansas private college or university. Students must demonstrate financial need, as determined by completing the FAFSA.

Additional Information: The Kansas Comprehensive Grant is available to needy Kansas residents enrolled full-time at eighteen private colleges and universities located in Kansas, the six state universities, and Washburn University. This grant is funded by the state of Kansas. The Kansas Legislature provides limited assistance to financially needy students.

Award Amount: Award amounts range from $200 - $3,500 at the private institutions and $100 - $1,500 at the public institutions and are based on financial need. Awards are not automatically renewable, students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,548.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back in February for a refreshed application deadline date.Interested students must apply directly through one of the participating Kansas state postsecondary institutions. Each participating college may require additional application materials. Students should contact the institution’s financial aid office for additional details.To apply, students must file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. For award consideration, the FAFSA must be submitted after January 1st but on or before April 1 to be considered for the award year.
