Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on funding and the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must attend San Clemente High School in San Clemente, California.
  5. Must plan to study math, science, or art at an accredited four-year university or college.

Additional Information: Recipients will be notified in the summer.

Award Amount: $2,000 to $4,000 annually, depending on the level of financial need, cost of tuition, available funding and any other special circumstances. The award amount will be determined at the discretion of the scholarship review committee. The award is non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

Applications are available from the Orange County Community Foundation website and must be completed online. Each applicant must create an account using his/her username, chosen password, name and email address. The applicant will be matched with corresponding awards based on his/her responses within the application. In addition to the completed application, the student must upload his/her most recent official transcript; his/her expected family contribution (obtained from the Student Aid Report received after filing the FAFSA); information regarding his/her or his/her parents' recent income tax return; an essay of no more than 600 words addressing the topic listed; an optional special circumstances essay of no more than 600 words; and contact information for two references. Upon submission of the student's application, each reference will receive an email with instructions on how to submit their letters of recommendation. Students must file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by the deadline date. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on the deadline date.
