In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a member of the KPHA to apply.
  2. Must have a declared major related to science or health.
  3. Must be an undergraduate student who has completed at least one full year of study.

Description: The Ellen M. Buchart Scholarship was named in memory and honor of the late Ellen Buchart whom served Kentucky Public Health Association (KPHA) as a past President. This scholarship will be administered by KPHA in the amount of $2,000 and is payable at the rate of $1,000 per semester paid directly to the student’s school.

Application requirements for the Ellen M. Buchart Scholarship are:

  • Essay

  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: You must be a member of the KPHA to apply. Eligibility also requires an awardee to be enrolled as a junior, senior, or graduate student with a health or science related major. Preference will be given to students in the public health programs at their respective college or university.

Award Amount: Scholarship recipient(s) get an award of $2,000 which is payable at the rate of $1,000 per semester.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
