Washington State University Top Questions

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Kaitlyn

Before I became a student at Washington State University, I wish I would have known how to study more effectively. The course-load is not as difficult as I was told throughout my high school career, but during high school I did not study very often or very well. Having the knowledge that it would be benificial for me to read chapters before or after lectures, and to know what exactly I should focus on before a test, would have helped me very much when preparing for my finals and other midterms in my classes.

Before I came to this school, I wish I had known more about how much the homework help.. HELPS! I didn't make a huge effort at first to go all the little nightly programs that give students a chance to ask questions about chemistry, math, you name it. I've gone to a couple now leading up to the upcoming finals and they really do help. Proffessors will answer your questions guarenteed! So start early, and you will understand material more and even better: Do GREAT on exams!

Stephanie

I think I knew as much as I could have known for the point in my life. Coming to school is a learning experience in itself. I am constantly learning and I believe I always will be so I don't wish so much to have known anything more before school. I learn from my mistakes and experiences.

Nick

I wish I had known how cold it gets in the winter in Pullman. I wish I had known how isolated the school is from the outside world.

Robert

Nothing, Orientation taught me everything I needed to know about the school.

Don't judge people until you know them, no matter how they appear or come across or what group they are part of. Athletics have way more options than football and basketball. Be prepared to pay $22,000/year for all school related expenses. Dont be afraid to try something new. The winter is terrible.

James

I wish i had known a little bit more about the weather; it gets really cold in the winter and i was not quite prepared for the -5 degrees farenheit weather.

Jessica

I wish I would have know more about the career I wanted to pursue.
