University of Southern Indiana Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about University of Southern Indiana? Why?

Leila

I think the worst thing is bringing in teachers that are too busy with their career life to really put in the effort that a classroom setting demands. I had a teacher that you could tell was well educated in her field but her teaching skills and accountability were not the highest because she was traveling around the United States for her job and we only met three out of eight times that the class was scheduled for.

Sports aren't really big here and the administration doesn't want to make our programs any stronger by providing more scholarships or funding. So our school spirit is pretty low and not many people come to the sporting events. Also since I run on the track team we get absolutely no help from the school financially.

The worst thing is the lack of community on campus.

I wish there were more school spirit. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that we don't have a football team. However, I don't want a football team because tuition would go up. But it would be nice to have a little more school spirit around.

the worst thing about my school is that almost every student drinks and parties. it does'nt matter what day of the week it is, getting hammered is'nt a big deal. it is hard to find anything to do other than go to parties. underage drinking is very prevalent here!

Sometimes the school doesn't treat us like adults. If you have a problem, they won't respond unless your parents start to call, which I see as a problem. On the upside, this is my third year here, and this problem does seem to be getting better. They are much more responsive to me this year than they were my freshman year.

The only thing i consider the worse is since the classes are so small, its harder to get the class you want without out it closing and having no spots left to enroll in that class.
