I wish that I had known how limited the options are for being different from the mainstream "USD" feel. There are definitely large groups on campus, however if one is not interested in them, it can be lonely and difficult to find the others who share similar interests as yourself. It may even take four years to find those lifelong friends that the rest of the school seemed to make during orientation. The school body is friendly, this is true. But one will have very few true friends.

Nothing. It is is the perfect mix.

Time passes by extremely fast. Starting from the first week of school, I was already lost in the crowd of people. I was confused about my future goal and I thought, this is the first time that I am away from home. I try to be more independent and responsible, but it was not as easy as I thought. I am still immature, thinking about playing video games, watching videos online and wasting my time in general. Before I knew it, midterms and finals passed by. The result is not as great as I hope, but I learned improve myself.

I wish I had known how uncommunicative the various offices are.

I wish I would have know that the graduation requirements were different than that of the California universities. I was a transfer student, so many of my classes no longer met my major requirements for this school, resulting in a longer more costly path to graduation.

That the financial aid process would be so difficult. Right now I am stuck with a hold on my account and not able to register for classes because the departments messed up. It's definitely frustrating. And I feel that when you do need help the administration sends you from one place to another and no one can really solve anything.

The school's biology department focuses more on research than on geting their students accepted into graduate schools that are not research related.

I wish I knew that The University of San Diego is not racially diverse. And I wish I knew that majority of the students come from affluent backgrounds.

I wish I had known just how difficult the coursework really was. I had struggled with the first couple of exams I took, so I wish there was someone that could have informed the incoming freshmen that USD is very academically driven. I also wish I would have known about the financial costs of everything. Books and parking permits are not included in the tuition costs, along with club dues. Everything totalled up left me struggling financially during the school year.
