What is the stereotype of students at University of Rhode Island? Is this stereotype accurate?

There maybe a stereotype of students at URI who are just going here because its cheap instate for them. And there also maybe a stereotype of students at URI being stoners. And while this maybe true for some students, that doesn't mean that there aren't just as many motivated and intelligent scholars here as well. I've met some pretty amazing people here that are just as focused and motivated about their school work as you could find at Harvard. Don't let a few students that may smoke or are just getting a degree to please their parents dissuade you from meeting all of the incredible people who go to URI and are diligent, hard-working students.

Many people believe URI is completely a party school and that pot smoking is very popular, and it is partially true there are always parties going on but there are some who don't party.
