The student body at URI is very liberal. There is a group on campus for pretty much everyone. Many of the students are there on scholarship while others are struggling to get by. A large number of the students are paying their own way through college. Students usually dress very comfortably to class. If it's an early class, expect to see someone with pajama pants on. If a student at URI has to get up at 7 for an 8:00 class and walk up the hill, they usually don't put much effort into "looking good." From what I have seen, most students are more focused on thier passions rather than how much money they will make. Then again, someone in the business program may answer differently.

I am not yet so familiar and exposed to the way of life in USA in order to give a clear opinion for this.

There is a really diverse student body. It's so easy to meet people and make friends. When I went, I immediately became friends with my roommates and we're still friends today. We left our door open and made other friends from people just peeking into our room. There are clubs and organizations for pretty much any style of life and one great thing is that you can create you own club if we don't have something that you want. I have friends from so many different groups. One fun thing is going to the dining hall. You'll see so many people you know and make new friends from sitting with friends. It's so easy!

The URI campus pretty much reflects the country racially. Its mostly white and has a much smaller minority population. There are many different groups on campus. There are a lot of organizations fighting causes, many of which are race related, however do not discriminate against anyone outside the race. There is a LGBT group. I don't think anyone would feel out of place at the school. There is such a variety of people there. There's someone for everyone to get along with.

There are people from all backgrounds here however a great deal of the people are from other states like New Jersey and New York. A large population of super tan bimbos go here. A super smart kid that doesn't drink may feel out of place. There are a ton of kids with beemers and Mercedes Etc. here. Many students are not politically aware or active.

Okay, I don't really socialize with URI students, since I'm a local and never lived on campus. I also work full-time to support myself, so I don't really have time to socialize, let alone willingly socialize with URI students, sorry.

I don't like the amount of entitled rich tri-state area students that attend URI
