Advice to self is to put all you can into learning. The subjects being taught seem tedious and unuseful at the time, but when you enter the real world all you learn comes into play at one point or another in lifes journey. Make a plan and pursue it. Its ok to second guess your dreams , but do not let anyone talk you out of your dreams. Make solid decisions that will build those dreams and again do not hesitate to ask questions about any and all thoughts and ideas that cross your mind. Take notes, journals, wish list, goals, and reflect on them on a set day to keep yourself on track. Taking time off to breathe is ok, as long as you do not let life pass you by. Start college within the first year or two after graduation. This allows you to stay focused and obtain those goals.

The first thing I would say is hey you are doing the right thing by joining the military right out of high school. Now that you have joined the military and have found a way to financially support your education goals start planning now. Come up with your short term and long term education goals. Are you going to attend college while on active duty or are you going to wait till you get out of the military. The key to all of this is to have a plan, your plan can and probably will change over time but remember always have a plan of what you want to do. Remember it is very important to get an education and you have taken the first step by funding your education by joining the military. Second when you do attend school make sure you give your all and don't give up. The third and final advice I would like to give is remember how lucky you are to have your education paid for so don't let it go unused you only have a certain amount of time to use it or you will loose it.
