University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Top Questions

What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Andy

THere is so much to do around campus, from improv and dance classes to bars and great restaurants. The nightlife is awesome, especially Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Robin

Better social life than most schools. We have a super active Greek life that at the same time isn't overwhelming or exclusive.

Chelsea

living on south campus has been the best experience b/c of the suite style dorms. everyone's doors are always open, and i love when, on sunny days, everyone lays out on the lawn. there is a guy on the 4th floor who plays james taylor for the entire dorm to here, and it just makes me so happy to be at UNC.

Devin

Frats and Sorrorities provide much of the party scene for underage students. UNC is definitely a party school. People work hard and play hard. Basketball games are extremely popular, as are most other sports (i.e. football and baseball).

Jarvis

Franklin Street is one of a kind. I am there 2 or 3 nights a week.

Natalie

I'd say the majority of students at UNC live up their social lives to the fullest. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one staying in on a Friday or Saturday night to work on a group project for the business school or study for my business law exam on Monday! It's STRESSFUL!

Heather

Being involved in intramurals is a popular activity on campus. A lot of people rush Greek organizations, but it isn't critical to having a well-rounded social life. Christian groups are also popular.

Jessica

There is always something to do here, no matter what your lifestyle is. You can go see a play, go to a frat party (if you are a girl or if your a guy and you know someone in the frat). The dorms here on campus are kinda crappy, well the ones on south campus are but south campus is where the freshman experience happens. You meet alot of people you become friends with there and almost everyone living on south campus like Ehringhaus is willing to talk to anyone.

Nicole

A large part of UNC's social activities involve sororities and fraternities, but there are other groups that a student can become involved in that don't drink or party. Athletic events are very popular and since a large part of the student body is interested in the arts, there are always performances taking place. The dorms are very social and I would feel comfortable, and have before, walking into someone's room to ask a favor.

Brandt

I like to party.
