I believe that I have become a better world citizen, I have developed a true sense of myself, and I have learned that what you get out of college is how much you want to get out of college. In other words, our learning is up to us, it is not given to us, we have to go after it.
I have become a better citizen by learning that I want to help others, and teach others. I am currently enrolled as a Graduate student to become an Art teacher. I believe that becoming a teacher is my "calling" and through this I have developed a sense of myself as an individual.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing in 2005 and have had a desire to become a teacher since. I recently learned that the time is NOW and that I need to go after what I desire, which is why I chose to go back to school.
Above all of the knowledge that I have gained since going to school, the most important thing I gained from my college experience is a love for other people and a desire to teach what I know.

I have recentlly just enrolled in an adult accelerated program at Benedictine University. I feel that college is an important step that I did not take when I graduated high school. I know that by going back to college, I will be able to increase my growth potential and advance in my career. This is valuable to me, as without a degree, I would not be able to realize my full potential. Continuing my education is a big step, and one that I hope will allow me to move forward in the working field.

My college experience has definitely been one of a learing experience. I have learned a lot about myself and about others by living in close proximity with so many people at one time. I have experienced that you can't always take people at face value and there is so much underneath a person's surface, including myself. Living with someone has been such an awakening for me, as I'm sure it has for many people, because you never fully know a person until you live with them. People change in the blink of an eye, and you have to be prepared to deal with it. Learning about people and yourself are the best life lessons because it can really enhance your character. The college experience has a value that nothing else can compare to. It is your first time living without family where you learn how to really take care of yourself and put yourself first. I value my college experience, with all its good and bad above any of my other experiences because it shows who a person truly is, including myself. There is nothing better than knowing who you are.

So far, i have got a chance to meet so many great people. I can honestly say that I am learning something and do feel smarter everyday. College has given me the chance to live on my own and create my own independence. I feel as though college is going to better my future in so many ways. It is important to me that I can be financially stable and be able to someday provide my children with a better life than I had. Education is important to me and I hope that by attending college, it will pay off and I will have a great life as an Occupational Therapist.

Through my experiences in college there are many valuable lessons that I have learned. I learned that it is NEVER late to start studying. No matter who you were before college, you just have to prove it to professors and faculty members that you can change. It may take harder work than other people who have always tried hard in school but it is never late for those who haven't because long as you can show that you are trying and you're not willng to give up, college gives you that second chance. I made my regrets and mistakes in highschool and I am able to redirect and learn from those mistakes and use those lessons in college. I think this has been the valuable lesson I have learned in my life, and probably one of the valuable lesson that I will forever cherish and use. So far, I have done nothing but prove to myself, my parents and my professors that this is all true.

I have learned through my college experience that it is important to be yourself and to push yourself outside of your comfort zone so that you continue to learn. Other people have lessons to teach you and they don't even know it. Different situations will expose you to the knowledge that will prepare you for the real world. It has been valuable to attend college so that I learned this and so that I could figure out who I am. It is important to see people from all walks of life so as to better put yourself in perspective. I learned there is so much more to the wolrd than just me and my life.

By deciding to attend this 9 month culinary school, Arizona Culinary Institute, I have learned many things. The fact that it is an accelerated program, so much information and learning happens in a short period of time. It is going to be extremely valuable to my career and life by attending this school. I hope to take my knowledge that I learn from this school and open my own restaurant and hotel with my twin brother. Also, being 2,000 miles away from my family and going to college is giving me a chance to live my own life as a college student and it is teaching me to be independent and responsible.

College has completely changed me for the better. Before I went to college, I was very dependent on my parents and my friends from home, I was scared to try new things, and I was the shy and quiet girl from my high school. Now, I have broken out of my shell and become an extremely independent, out-going and confident woman. I am studying abroad in Italy in the Spring, something I would have never done before college, and I have an excellent marketing internship which has taught me valuable skills for my future in the business world. My college experience has not only taught me valuable lessons and education that I will need in the workplace, but has taught me how to break out of my comfort zone by meeting new friends, trying new things, and feeling like I could conquer the world if I put my mind to it. I feel that by attending college, I have blossomed into a mature adult and I know that I am completely 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} prepared for anything after this amazing four year experience.
