University of New Hampshire-Main Campus Top Questions

As an English major, most of my classes are small. I enjoy the smaller groups because there are more opportunities to get to know my classmates and my professors. I learn a lot in short periods of time, but there is always downtime to chat with classmates about things other than school.

Classes are generally 50 mins 3 times a week or 80 mins twice a week. Science classes will most likely have a lab. Organic chemistry's lab was 4 hours long, potentially one of the hardest classes I took over the four years. As much as the classes killed me and made me want to change my major, I got through all of them with As and Bs. They are definitely manageable.

The bottom line is when you come to college, you're here for an education. It's not always going to be easy, but you will get a lot out of it. Currently, I am in two major classes and two general education requirements. My major classes are a little harder and challenging. My two general education classes are really interesting, but a little less challenging. One of my favorite classes I am taking right now is Public Speaking. It is small class of 22 people, so it has been great to get to know everyone in the class. We get to write our own material and present it. It has been great to practice my presenting skills, because they will be so helpful in the future!
