In some essence these stereotypes are true. We may not be one of the Top Schools, however, we have our own benefits for being in Las Vegas. We are known for our hospitality, business, and gambling areas here. Other places may not have the same opportunities to grow in these areas like Las Vegas. The second stereotype is the "Never Leaving Vegas". I don't think its entirely accurate. Its just that there are students who prefer to stay here with something they know, but eventually they will leave else where.

I would say for some people, the partying is accurate but everyone always gets there work done. There's nothing wrong with partying, just as long as you get good grades. I think that's how a lot of students at UNLV are. They know how to have fun, but maintain good grades as well.

Blanca

Very accurate.

Susie

Nope, everyone and everything at UNLV is different then what is carried through word of mouth.

joe

Yes, if that is what you are looking for. No if otherwise. I go to UNLV to make and save money--not to party.

Nina

The stereotypes are not true. A lot of students I know are smart and motivated. UNLV might not have a good academic reputation, but many students here work half-time or even full-time. Many are financially independent and some can not afford to attend other universities.

Mary

Nope. alot that I have met are from Cali
