University of Nebraska-Lincoln has many qualities. One quality in particular is the support and pride of athletics students show. Thousands of students, alumni, and Nebraska Fans attend sporting events such as football games, volleball games, basketball games, and much more to show their support to students who have dedicated themselves to representing UNL through these activities.

The best thing about UNL is game days. Cheering for the huskers is like a religion here. Everyone wears red and is so involved when the football team has a home game. This is school is just the right size. All of my classes I can easily walk to. I think Lincoln is a great college town. It is considered a small town but it has the environment of a big city. There is everything you could possibly need in walking distance of campus. I go to dinner at Applebee's and Old Chicago all of the time and then go to a movie after without having to use my car at all. I loved living in the dorms my freshman year. The food is great in the dinning halls. I truly believe that UNL has the most school pride out of any school in the country. Every alumni continues to be a die hard husker fan.

University of Nebraska- Lincoln. Not a hick school.

I love UNL, with all my heart and soul. I am an active student who has seen change occur on this campus. I have faculty and staff who support me and a community of friends I never knew I could have. I came from a small school and graduated with 64 students in my class, coming to the UNL could have been scary, but it was easy to find community. Although some classes may be large lectures of 250 students you are not forgotten here at UNL! Professors care about who you are and they are easy to approach! That is the same for academic advisors and other professional resources on campus. Bleeding Husker Red isn't just a saying. We are very proud of our institution and that pride doesn't just stem from athletics. Although we have a great athletic program which is exciting, we are a fantastic research institution, have an awesome Greek System and Housing program, and so much more. Being in the Big 10 only continues to show that we are constantly proactive in being a great school and care about crafting students to perform at the best of their abilities.

I love everything about the University of Nebraska! There are countless organizations to get involved with! If you can think of it there is probably a group! If not, feel free to create your own! Saturdays in the Fall are some of the best with Husker Football. All around campus you will see nothing, but a sea of red! The campus itself might be considered large, but not too big where you won't see familiar faces around campus, in the student union, or in your classes.

Overall, I have had a beneficial experience at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. The dorms are large enough to accommodate new students to campus life. There are many student groups available to get involved with in order to meet people within your specific college and outside of it. Greek life is very strong on campus. Greek's are very involved on campus and in the community. The student body is predominately white but there are many minority groups to get involved with if that is an interest of the student. The size of the student body isn't too large. Lecture classes can be around 120+ students while other classes can be around 20 students. Lincoln is very much a "college town", athletics and school pride are very important to the student body as well as the community of Lincoln. The shift to the BIG10 has been the most recent change for UNL, with much support from the community, the change has impacted sports and more importantly will enhance the learning experience on campus.

Lincoln is definitely a college town. Once you get off campus, there is just bar after bar and fast food. Lincoln as a city is really bland with not much to do. Other than the city of Lincoln, UNL is really great. I spend most of my time on campus either around my dorm or at the rec. The rec center at UNL is amazing. They have an indoor football field, lap pool, weight room, rock wall, and tons of other cool stuff including the injury care and prevention facilities. School pride is really apparent here, especially on football days. When the Huskers play, the campus and city is one big party. The administration recently made a bad decision to move the student section on the football stadium up about twenty rows and throw a bunch of old people in front of us. WTF? So everyone around campus is mad about that. The most frequent student complaint is about the university's alcohol policy. No alcohol is allowed on campus, which makes for some fairly boring weekends sometimes. Its all good though; the houses right off campus are where the partys are at, but beware of the Lincoln PD. They love nothing more than handing out MIPs and other alcohol related tickets.

Lincoln is a college town that is pretty wild on the weekend especially during football season. The school is very large!!!

If I could change one thing I would change the way the guys dress here. Coming from the south, the boys at home seem to dress nicer and take better care of themselves. Also, the girls here seem to wear a lot of make-up and try and have the "I've just been to the beach" look, when in reality we're in the midwest and the closest beach is a good thousand miles away.

I think the school is a great size--it's small enough to see a familiar face every day, but large enough to avoid those familiar faces if need be. There are always opportunities for meeting new people. People's perceptions about UNL have a lot to do with their perceptions about Nebraska. If they believe we still have issues finding running water, than UNL seems pretty backwoods to them. If they are aware that Nebraska is like any other central state, then their reactions are pretty normal. A large portion of my time is spent in the city campus student union, Love Library, and Andrews Hall (the English building--that's my major). UNL is big enough to occasionally unnerve the unsuspecting student with an unnecessarily large amount of red tape. Everyone is so friendly; these issues with bureaucracy come up when you least expect them, and rare as they are, are an unpleasant surprise. The school pride here is insane. Everyone's proud to be a Husker, even the ones who don't like the football team!
