What's unique about your campus?

I consider the best thing about Montevallo to be the whole atmosphere. Everywhere you go, whether it be the caf, the quad, or class, there are always kind people. It's not hard to find where you fit in; it's not hard to find friends that will support you, love and care for you, and accept you for who you are. Professors are always willing to help you. If you're struggling in their class, you don't have to be afraid to tell them. Literally everywhere you go, you'll find some of the kindest of people.

If you were to ask someone if they liked to eat the same thing every single day, they would likely say no. If you then asked them if they liked to do the same exact things every single day, they would likely say no again. Humans naturally enjoy a variety in the things that they associate themselves with--education is no exception. That is why my favorite thing about The University of Montevallo is the variety of courses available to us students. The university gives the student a plethora of classes to choose from that fit each student's needs.

The relationships I have with my teachers is absolutely amazing. They're really great friends of mine, and let me use them as references on job applications, and have even asked me to house/babysit for them.

The faculty want their students to succeed and that is very obvious. I have yet to come across a staff person that has not done whatever possible to help make my time at UM extraordinary and totally worth it. I was blown away by how helpful and caring each staff member that I encountered was. Another fantastic thing about UM is that the classes are small. The teacher remembers who you are and, therefore, tries harder to help you achieve success. As someone who was raised in a small private school, this was important to me.

I consider UM'S campus in general to be the best thing. It's a small, private school of arts which has a lot of history. I think the campus is beautiful, from its brick sidewalks and landscape, to the old buildings and history they represent. I started college off at a community college, but transferred to the University of Montevallo after my second year of college. I fell in love right away, however, I was a bit more intimidated because it was a University and the class sizes were much larger than those at my community college.

The best thing about my school, in my opinion, is the size of it. From most campuses, an average class has at leat 30-40 students. For someone who has always been in smaller class settings, it was extremely hard for me to get used to the idea of being in an auditorium for classes. When I visited Montevallo, I saw that the classes were small! They were about 15-20 students on average. This setting suit me best because it allows for more personal time with the professor to gain more knowledge on materials I don't quite understand.

The best thing about the University of Montevallo is the academic support that the school provides. There are different opportunities for tutoring around campus such as the Learning and Enrichment Center as well as the writing center. The tutoting organizations are free of charge to all students attending the university. The professors are also willing to work out dates within their schedule in case the students need extra help.

The best thing about the University of Montevallo is the open atmosphere. Every person on the campus is welcoming, kind, and courteous. The faculty only have your best interest in mind, while the students all realise that we're here for the same thing. Montevallo is the most warm-hearted, accepting place where you feel like you can be your best self.

The diversity of students and the faculty, most all hold a phd- they care about their students!

Everyone is so down to earth and genuinely nice. Being a small campus, everyone pretty much knows eachother, or atleast of eachother. With that being said, I love how accepting people on this campous are! :)
