The tradition is the best thing. School size is just right. People are usually impressed when i tell them i go to Mizzou.
I spend the most time either in classes, at the Career Center (where I work) or in the student life building.
Definite college town
Administration is cool, very supportive.
Controversy on campus would have been with the Basketball team drama. One got hurt by another one at a club.
There is a TON of student pride
Our football team is AMAZING!!!

The best thing about Mizzou: the history. When you go to Mizzou, you are joining a legacy of excellence and tradition, and it's something to be proud of. No other university can rival the deep respect for tradition that we have.
If I could change one thing, I would make the entire student body more engaged in what is going on. Major decisions are made without students voicing their opinion, and it's our job as students to take ownership of our college's success.
The school is just right. You may have a few big classes, but most of your classes are going to be fairly small.
When I tell people I go to Mizzou, they think I am a party girl and that I am a little self-righteous about going there. But Mizzou is filled with friendly and down to earth people who all love this school and what it stands for.
I spend most of my time on campus walking around. It's a beautiful campus.
Columbia is definately a town that has embraced the college community. It has a wide range of arts and entertainment venues, alot with a great restaurant and bar scene. It may be a change for big-town people, but most people love the community atmosphere.
I think the administration, atleast when it comes to advising, is helpful but a little detached. The current administration is working to increase communication between students and the administration.
The biggest controversy, besides the greek gossip blog that rehashes all of the dramatic Greek events, was the student body president election. There is always a debate about cheating and candidate quality.
There is tremendous school pride. And we hate Kansas.
Mizzou's campus is unique; it's beautiful and large but easy to get around. It never takes more than 10 minutes to walk anywhere on campus, which is unusual.
I will always remember homecoming my senior year. Mizzou founded homecoming in 1911---it has never been done anywhere else before---and now it's a huge event that is planned year round.
Most frequent student complaint: parking.

The asthetic beauty of the campus is the best part of my schooling here, give or take teh many consturciton sites going on right now. To make this school a better place, I would attract a more diverse range of students.

I would change how personable the faculty are, they don't really focus on their students as much as they should. I have had only one teacher that I have really liked so far, and he left Mizzou. I think missoz is WAY too large, but that also leaves lots of room for variety which is pretty cool. When I told friends I was going to Mizzou they thought I was going to Missoulah or however you spell that. Nobody from my school EVER went to a Missouri school.

I really love it at Mizzou. In fact, I call Mizzou home, not Memphis. It might make my parents angry, but I like that I am able to do that

The best thing about Mizzou is the size. I love how big and open it is. I came from a large public high school and this is right up my alley to keep up with my active social life.
One thing I would change is the amount of foreign professors. I understand that they're far more intelligent in their study and they would make a better overall teacher than some american grad student, but cmon, I have an economics class with a professor named Myoung Kim and her attempt at english is pathetic.
Mizzou is just right in terms of size. If it was any bigger, well, that would just be impossible.
I get a lot of positive feedback when saying I go to mizzou. Everyone knows how prestigious it is in terms of education and athletics. They're jealous they dont attend such a great school.
When I'm on campus I usually spend my time in class. I live off campus and don't really find myself back on campus unless I'm going to or from class.
I dont really get the question of "College town, or 'what college town?'" I'm just gonna assume that you're wondering the awareness of Columbia as a college town. I think that many people residing in Missouri would agree that Columbia is a college town, but probably not many outsiders. I dont know what city a lot of colleges are in and I like to think of myself as average. So I would say that the average person probably doesn't know of Columbia, Missouri.
The Mizzou administration is great. I always get kind emails from the staff and faculty. I've never met any of them personally but that's probably a good thing.
The biggest recent controversy? I'm not too sure about that one.
As a tiger, I have loads of school pride, and I think a lot of the people attending here do as well. I always see dozens of people walking around in their Mizzou fleeces, or some sort of Mizzou shirt.
As far as unusualness goes, I think the only thing that had me confused was the fact that we have sooooo many good looking women here. It's insane how many 10 out of 10 girls I see walking around. Goodness.
One experience I'll always remember is the Missouri-Nebraska football game where we slaughtered them and went on to be the #1 team in the nation. Not many schools can say that.
Complaints? I really haven't heard much. I'd say Mizzou is doing a pretty good job at being the best university there is.

-Best Thing = Beautiful Campus
-Thing To Change = Rude Mizzou Staff Members and open up the streets during the day - campus is too pedestrian friendly.
-School is just right or just slightly too big.
-Mizzou yields a neutral reaction - I am from Chicago though.
-Most of my time is sent in my Fraternity house.
-College town for sure.
-I think the Mizzou administration is one of the weakest components. Very rude and unhelpful staff.
-Biggest recent on-campus controversy was the Virginia Avenue Garage vandalism.
-Yes there is school pride, but a lot of fair weather since we have not done exceedingly well in a specific sport for a long period of time.
-I can't think of anything truly unusual.
-An experience I will always remember will be the Mizzou 2007 football season.
-Most frequent student complaints include poor parking situation, MUPD, classes that are horrible and never change i.e. Math 1120 and Microeconomic 1014.

Mizzou is a huge school - every freshman class since I was a freshman has been the largest freshman class ever. You absolutely have to have an outgoing personality or you will not succeed. I would wager that people who dropped out or transferred have done so because they were lost in the crowd. Whether it relates to not being able to make friends or not getting the academic support you need - it has a lot to do with being outgoing.
Mizzou is also a 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} college town. Everything revolves around the University and it's sports teams. There is a huge amount of school pride, something that made me attracted to the school in the first place. Now that I've graduated and live back in the Chicago area, I greatly enjoy Alumni Association events. Even 400 miles away, Mizzou fans pack into a bar and cheer on the Tigers.

The size of Mizzou is just right—it has any amenities and opportunities you could want while still being small enough (or seeming small enough) to be a tight-knit community.
Jesse
I think the size of Mizzou is just right. I don't ever feel like it's too big. I see familiar faces of people I know all the time when I walk to class. Being involved in Greek life helps a ton! It makes everything seem alot smaller.
On campus I spend most of my time at Brady Commons. The great thing about that place is the food court and the fact that it's right next to the bookstore. After I eat lunch I just walk next door and student charge something.
The bookstore is awesome! it has everything you need, and the best part of it all is that you can student charge everything! Even DVDs, ipods, designer perfume, clinique make up, EVERYTHING! It's great.
I don't think I could ever forget this year's football season. Our football team was awesome so it made everything about football season that much more fun. Unfortunately, they took away our favorite tailgaiting spot, "Frat Pit", on Providence Rd. so it made it harder for students to tailgate all in one place. But all managed to get pretty hammered before every game regardless.
