The University of Michigan is full of opportunities, but they are not handed out, a student has to pursue opportunity and take advantage of campus resources. In addition to being self-motivated the student must be well rounded. Academics are important to students and faculty here, but social balance is also important. With so many extra-curriculars and clubs a student is encouraged to get involved in more than his/her classes because the University of Michigan looks for the leaders and best.
