The bottom line is, college will change you no matter where you decide to go. Think of it as starting out fresh, so don't be afraid to establish bonds with new people. Remember though to be as cautious as you would be in the real world.

Overall, I am having a good experience at Michigan but I spend most of my days either studying or hanging out with my girlfriend.

Brittany

Michigan is amazing. It truly offers something to everyone and I can see everyone being happy here. We have great rival schools and it makes you proud to be a Michigan Wolverine. When I travel around the country and I wear Maize & Blue, I always meet other U of M alumni that shout the familiar "GO BLUE" as we cross paths. It's such a great feeling of pride that all U of M students/alumni/faculty share. We are all extremely proud to be Michigan Wolverines and we definitely will not let you forget it!

Naomi

I <3 U of M.

Tristan

This survey is much too open ended. I wasn't prepared for a 2 hour, online blue book exam.

Students who excel at Michigan are those who assert themselves and aim way above the basic expectations set for the median incoming freshman. By your sophomore or junior year, you need to firmly take control of your own fate. The University is simply too big to carry you along by your neck-fur. That doesn't mean that you'll be a drone, but it means that you'll be judged by your performance more than your potential. Most smart people excel here. The ones who have bad experiences tend to be those who expected to be coddled and cooed over.
