Describe the students at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

Amy

I love how diverse the student body is here at the University of Michigan! It's great to interact with people from so many different backgrounds. Even if your opinions stand out from others, you are respected for your position. It's so important to get involved and stand up for what you believe in now, during your time at a university and always.

Evan

The student body is really very liberal and open-minded. you aren't expected to conform to any standards.

Aliza

The student body here is EXTREMELY diverse...Michigan prides themselves on this.

Nico

The Michigan student body is very diverse but very segregated.

Paige

While most people can find a group of people to be part of, this campus is no different than others. People who dress poorly and have the "geeky" look, will inevitably be ostracized.

Cris

The one thing I have to say about Michigan's student body is that it is NOT diverse. Although it may say it on all the pamphlets, if you look around the Diag, or down South University, you'll probably just see white kids. The pass on Proposal 2 was the most foolish thing ever. Also most groups will stick with each other. The Indians with the Indians, the Koreans with the Koreans, etc. Which is understandable because people with the same cultural backgrounds feel more comfortable together therefore they are attracted to each other. On a lighter note, everyone is very accepting of each other.

Whitney

most students from michigan, mainly oakland county, middle to upper class most prevalent, students talk about future salaries often

Jessica

Michigan is extremely diverse, and i cannot think of one kind of student who would feel out of place coming here. Since Ann Arbor is such a liberal town, students are very politically aware and active in politics and major debates.

Brett

People basically stick to the same groups

Ali

Michigan is pretty liberal. There are always different protests going on in the diag. There's also a pretty strong focus on the future/post-graduation plans, but people find time to have fun.
