This school is large enough to offer numerous paths and majors. This gives you the option to change your mind, which you will.

Compared to the other colleges I've considered, my university's campus seems to offer the experience of a big campus without the hustle and bustle of living in the city. The site itself is relatively large, and yet everything is within walking distance.

UMass offers so many activities, classes, jobs, etc. because of its large size. Within my major, Hospitality & Tourism Management, there are many internship and job opportunities available. We also have many student run businesses and organziations on campus, showing leadership and responsibility.

GET INVOLVED! It's the best advice you can get! In a school so big, you need to find your own identity. Whether it's with a team, club sport, RSO, Student Government, or just attending the sports events. There is something for everyone!

I'm always shocked to see UMass ranked below a number of other schools in the New England area. This is a top notch research institution, with a great business school, and a rapidly improving student body. For this price and this quality I can't see how anyone would pay more for some of the mediocre private schools in the state.

The school is in a gorgeous part of New England. Every morning, I get to walk by a beautiful mountain range on my way to class and the fall colors are amazing. I grew up only an hour and a half away from campus but I still feel like the leaves in my hometown pale in comparison to Amherst. It’s not just pretty to look at, though; there’s also a ton to do both on campus and off campus. A weekend hasn’t gone by where there hasn’t been something really fun going on.

This school is more diverse than most schools. It is a school that is more like a city in itself that gets you out of your cofort zone and the things that you were used to before you got there. It is a school that has such a rich history and the best surrounding community that is among the most cultured in the nation. Going to this school exoses you to so many different facets of life and gives you the oppurtunity to meet a lot of interesting people. This is a school that constantly stands on the cutting edge.

Most people who attend UMass now still agree with what I said about the exaggeration of negative stereotyping and the excellence of education. In a recent London Times article, UMass ranked #14 in the U.S. among public universities and FOURTH in Mass.! That is nothing to be ashamed of.

It's big and really fun
