When looking for the right college, be honest with yourself about where you want to go in life. What's the point in going to a school you hate for four (or maybe more) years, just to do a job you don't really care for? Even if you're not sure where you do want your road to lead you, that's okay! When you're at college, there will be so many classes on so many topics--you'll be sure to find something you like. And the faculty will be more than willing to help in any way possible, so don't be afraid to ask questions, besides, that's what they're there for! While you are in school, always try to do your best. Even if some situations don't turn out for the best, relax and stay calm, because college is a learning experience. Besides, if you don't trip over your shoelaces, how will you learn to tie them? So be brave, make mistakes, and good luck!

The best advice that anyone can get about finding the perfect college for you or your child, is to visit the college whenver possible. Never go by pamphlets, the words of other people, or online virtual tours. Go to the college, talk to a realy person. Sit down face-to-face and ask the questions that you need answered. Don't avoid questions that you think might be stupid or repititive; ask what you want. Make sure that you know everything you need to know in order to make an educated decision. The college that you attend can make or break your experience. Don't go to a college just because your friends are going there, or because someone says you'll do great there. Go to the college that best suits you and brings out the best the person you can be.
Another thing, enjoy college. I'm not saying ingore classes or put aside your work, but have fun. The friends you make in college are most likely going to the be the friends that last the longest. Put yourself out there, and don't be afriad of meeting new people - college is what you make of it.

Don't rush the process. Picking a good college is the first step to succeeding in your future. It's a time to get out on your own and explore yes, but it's also a time for learning and deciding what you want to do with your life. Money is always a big factor when looking at schools, but make sure to explore and find that you're getting the best for your money. After all this is a place where you should feel comfortable. Explore different options, different places, take tours, do summer programs with the schools you're considering, in the end it really should feel right to you, because if you're not comfortable with the place you are going, than you're not going to get nearly as much out of your experience as you should be. College is all about learning, not just book lessons, but life lessons. So get out there, the possibilities are endless. Go have fun and learn a lot while you're at it! Good luck in your search!
