I like being at U of L, but I would probably consider other options if they weren't double the price. The classes are not always conducive to working students once you are farther along in your degree. The school meal plan is a terrible idea for students who don't live on campus, which most students do not. This is a research school, therefore, you are required to write more papers than the average school would require of you. On a positive note, there are always plenty of school activities for you to participate in and meet new people.

The University of Louisville is an excellent school with a large variety of programs and colleges so that everyone can find their place. For example, we have one of the best engineering schools in the nation, excellent nursing, dentistry, and medical programs, and of course education, arts & sciences, and much more. The school is very diverse and has a lot of willing participants to help make the environment friendly and welcoming. In Kentucky, one of the most famous colleges is the University of Kentucky, but it seems that this is only because of their basketball team. However, UofL is quickly catching up and overpowering all other schools in Kentucky in nearly every aspect. We are a school with several Rhodes scholars, Fulbright scholars, and many more prestigious awards. As well, our University gives out the Grawemeyer awards which are five annual prizes given in the fields of music, political science, psychology, education and religion.
Overall, the University of Louisville excels in academia, student involvement, and school pride above any other school in Kentucky, in my opinion and I am sure in the minds of many others. If torn between any college and this university, it would be wise to choose UofL!

There is no other school that I'd rather graduate from. I love the environment, I love that I can live off campus, but not far enough to make it not worth the drive each day. I love that it is a beautiful campus in an urban setting, and I love that it is consistently getting better every year. The business, engineering, and medical/nursing schools here are some of the best in the country. The medical and nanotechnology research done here makes history (the first artificial heart was implanted this year by a doctor here at UofL, for example). It is one of the best college sports towns around (athletes, we have some of the best facilities in the country), if you're into sports.
The only thing that I would change would be the amount of pride shown here. We've got a few homebodies that only came to UofL because it was close to home, so there are a lot more University of Kentucky (rival) fans than I'd like sometimes, but everyone is free to wear whatever they want so it's not a huge deal around here.
The student government is really active here, it makes us feel like they care about us and about future students, and that's important!
The size is just right. It's a commuter school mostly, so the students that live on campus are pretty tight-knit in many cases, but there are a lot of us living close to campus too, with plenty to do nearby.
It's a college in an urban area, so there's a lot more to do here than just stuff for college students!
I love UofL, and I love being a Cardinal. Go Cards!
