Someone who is ready to jump at opportunities. The University of Kentucky has plenty, but you have to be prepared to put yourself out there. If you like greek life, but don't enjoy the extreme party scene (lee Project X), UK has some pretty chill frats and sororities. Also, greek life looks awesome but it isn't for everyone. Just know if you feel uncomfortable (which you will) you can leave and find love and support from the other 30,000 students here.
If you are interested in journalism, The Kernel is UK's student-run newspaper. They are based online and do print 3 times a week. They've had people graduate to work with NY Times, Washington Post, and ESPN. So, yeah, they rock.
All-in-all you don't really have to be any one thing. If you enjoy sports, come on down. Like singing? We have a rocking women's choir. Plenty of campus ministries for worship and fun. One thing you do need to get into? Horses. We freaking love our horses.

I think that a person who is interested in furthering their education, building lifelong relationships, and supporting a huge sports program should attend UK. There's a lot to offer to many people out there with lots of different interests. They'd just have to know what they're looking for (or not because the school provides resources for that sort of thing as well).

The type of person that would attend this school is going to be diverse, a people person, community oriented, and a strong believer in Big Blue Nation.

someone looking for a big school atmosphere in a college town

The only requirement for doing well at the University of Kentucky is to be motivated and independent. At such a large school, it is sometimes necessary to self-advocate. A student can get lost in the numbers. However, especially as an upperclassman, a proactive student can make contacts with great advisors and professors that are willing to assist him/her with anything. Other than that, any student can find a niche on campus. There are all sorts of fields of study, campus activities and clubs where students can discover their interests.

A person that should attend this school is someone who likes a large campus and a large population but in a college town. Lexington revolves around University of Kentucky. The University is in the center of the town. The large campus enables many people to feel like they belong. There are plenty of activities and clubs to get involved in for any interest. Also a person that attends this school should like or tolerate walking because most dorms are on south campus whereas most classes are on north. It is about a mile walk to class a day.

The kind of person that should attend the University of Kentucky would be a bubbly and outgoing individual. However, more important than that is the person should really be appreciative of Greek life and want to be a part of it. One must be academically driven as well though, the classes are tough and a person can not squeeze by with the exams.

This is a school with much diversity, both in the course work offered and in the student population. For someone who craves this diversity, it is the perfect setting.
