What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Guadalupe

I would say the fraternities and sororities are the more popular groups around here. These are the ones that people are most eager to be a part of. Nothing else caught my notice to a greater extent. There are other groups or clubs, but those could potentially be overlooked.

Some of the most popular organizations on campus would be the sororities and fraternities as well as religious organizations. Most students usually look to join different groups to explore their possibilities and to make new friends. We have so many organizations to choose from it is almost impossible not to find something that interests you. I usually meet most of my friends in a classroom setting due to us relying on each other for support and information in that particular class. I also have meet close friends in the African American Academic Network (AAAN). This organization promotes African American student achievement and gives students a place to belong. Most of our African American students come from predominantly African American high schools so the AAAN is great in helping them adapt to the new diverse setting. Due to the fact that I do not live on campus I cannot provide information on things such as campus parties. I can say that I do party at home on the weekend occasionally. Over 50{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of our students at UIC are commuters so I am quite sure that they spend most of their recreational time off of campus also. For those who do live on campus, there are several things someone could do on a Friday night. We have a bowling alley, sports events, as well as restaurants on near and on campus that are fun and great to visit.
