Acceptance into the University of Georgia conveys a mutual respect between institution and student. Only the best are accepted, and in return, the best effort is expected. That said, hard work and an intense desire to learn are only part of the equation. Really, on such a large, vibrant campus, opportunities exist for everyone. No matter race, religion, political belief, or socio-economic status, we all bleed red and black.

Independence is the key. Sure, it's quite common to hop on over to your hallmate's dorm room to ask for a pen and maybe a little company, but once the pressure is high and finals have everyone fiesting on eraser tips and locking their doors, it's best to pack yourself a little bag of courage and walk it alone for a while. Sure, the smiles here are well in abundance, but you'll have to go hunting for them on your own.

UGA is such a big school and accomodates many types of people, but it best suits a student who is driven and yearning for a higher education. They cannot be afraid of a big campus and a large student body, and they should have a great sense of school pride. UGA is perfect for the student who wants to be involved and the student who wants to succeed.

Those who are: serious about learning; able to study in spite of temptation to go party; able to deal with lots and lots of people; able to read a campus map; able to set priorities; open-minded; able to communicate with the professors; willing to get involved in something; able to be completely responsible for yourself; disciplined; enjoy adventure.

Anyone who enjoys a "busy" environment that loves to meet new people will LOVE the University of Georgia! I just started this Spring, and already I know more people than the previous two colleges I attended in Georgia. Everyone I have talked to is fun-loving, yet still manages to keep up with school studies. Even for a large school, the professors really seem to "care" about every student, and are easily approachable. In short, if you're looking for a fun place to meet new people, Athens is the place to be!

This is a very big and diverse school. To go to UGA requries a person with a very strong motivation for learning. This school is challenging and fun at the same time. It is very easy to get along with students at UGA because everyone is more than willing to help others. Going to UGA also means that you are going to be part of Athens, being a college town. Just about anyone who loves bulldogs and wants to get a great education should go here.

A Georgia raised conservative that is of at least the middle class.

Students who want to attend the University of Georgia must be focussed on one goal and that goal is getting a great education. The admission's process here is more competitive than it has ever been, so it is not a good idea to apply if you are not serious about your education.

Any student in the state of Georgia should attend because it is the best way to spend HOPE. There is such a diverse group of people attending you cannot really characterize the typical UGA student.
