One of my favorite aspects about the University of Florida is its highly diverse student population. However, no matter how diverse it seems that everyone is very respectful and tolerating of each other. There are numerous LGBT groups and campaigns on campus as well as in the city of Gainesville. There seems to be an equal representation of Democrats and Republicans, but often times the various political groups on campus work together to achieve the same goals. As far as race is concerned, there is definitely a fair amount of students from India, China, and Asia and often times they stick together. The same thing goes for many of the sorority girls. However, the other roughly 75{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of students all mingle and interact with each other. Students come from all different financial backgrounds and I never hear students discussing their financial goals yet they often talk about their career goals.

Simone

My classmates consisted primarily of competetive individuals who were extremely excited to be at the University of Florida and to be part of the Gator Nation.

Kathleen

My classmates are thoughtful and respectful to the professor, for the most part.

Alissa

You can meet any type of person while walking around UF's campus. With about 50,000 students, there really is no generic "Florida Gator" student I could describe. You could meet someone who is completely "Greek orientated" meaning they are 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} involved in their fraternity or sorority, frequently sport the ever popular frat tank, and are seen out on the town most nights of the week. On the other hand, there are a number of diverse students whether it be culturally, sexually, or even financially. UF loves the phrase "The Gator Nation is everywhere." By this, UF boasts that anywhere you look you can find someone who attended this university. I take this quote to mean that any kind of person can be a Florida Gator, the Swamp never discriminates.
