University of California-Santa Barbara Top Questions

What is the stereotype of students at University of California-Santa Barbara?

Harper

A huge party school, a mainly white campus

Natalie

Obviously the largest stereotype is that we are big party school. I have also heard that everyone at UCSB is blonde and fit and goes to the gym a lot. And that a lot of people have STDs.

Nikki

UCSB is stereotyped as a party school on the beach with really good looking kids who drink a lot of beer, have casual sex and openly do drugs. Over the past few years, though, this reputation has died down a little and UCSB is getting more recognition as a competitive public school.

Celeste

UCSB is seen as a big party school with a huge Halloween party scene. UCSB students are seen as college kids who party more than they study and generally do not worry about responsibilities.

Kristin

That we are a huge party school who can't get their school work done.

Melissa

It was no suprise coming to UCSB as a freshmen, that UCSB has a reputation for being the University of Casual Sex and Booze. Then there is the University of California's Spoiled Brats (although I think USC - University of Spoiled Children - holds the torch for that one). Other stereotypes about UCSB and its students include: party school on the beach, good students who know how to have a good time, blonde sorority girls and surfer guys, and the "fun" UC school, the school with the most STDs/STIs.

Sarah

Stereotypes about UCSB & UCSB students... -party school, just party and go to the beach -no diversity -not very smart

Beth
