Kelly

Someone who is pursuing a business degree or nursing.

Tina

UC San Diego can be very isolating for individuals who are not out-going and social. It is a very academically focused and competitive school, so if you are not a motivated person it can be overwhelming. In order to succeed at this school, you should be the type of person that is self-motivated about becoming involved and putting your name and face out there. I would not recommend this school for people that are shy and intimidated by competition. It is a school of the best and brightest, so understand that you might not get straight As.

Rebecca

Any student that would like to develop that "college experience." There is not a school that you will likely develop years of friendship. The students typically do not stay in the area after graduation. La Jolla has banned UCSD to have a sorority/frat row, calling it a brothel. The sorority/fraternity experience is not like typical school, rather the selection is based on a computer selection program. The only way to have a social life is to join a frat or sorority. It is severely lacking in anything social.

Anyone who requires a highly social environment to thrive should not attend this school unless they join a fraternity/sorority IMMEDIATELY and do not EVER live in on-campus housing. A person with a closed mind and a tendency to dislike or discriminate against Asian culture and people should also not attend this school.

Jeffrey

A person should not attend University of California San Diego if they are looking for fun. If they are not serious about education then they should not attend the university. Anyone who is education (research) and career oriented should attend University of California San Diego. This university offers a great deal of resources in research for engineering and sciences. This university is not for individuals who are not serious about their education.
