i have been in contact with people of different races, sexual orientation, socio-economic backgrounds and etc through the student affirmative action committee which is a coalition of all of those groups and organizations on campus. most like to put comfort over anything else on the avg day but everyone loves to dress up some more than others. people cant shut up about how rich/successful they will be one day. Most of the people that dont come from SAAC because people there are usually just interested in making a difference in their communities.

I do feel like there's a socio-economic difference. Flip flops and jeans are very common. I don't think students are as politically aware/active as they could be.

sweaters and sweats. jeans.

I have never experienced a racial or religious problem at UCSD. Lately I have heard people talking about the underrepresentation of African Americans at this school, but nothing really negative about any ethnic group or religion. Being part of the greek system, I see many different types of people interacting. There are always going to be very studious people who like to study that hang out together, and the more social people that like to go out t every school. I think that a good percentage of people at UCSD have a good balance between academics and social life. There are many political opinions on campus and students have opportunities to learn more and voice their opinions.

Most students wear sweatshirts and jeans to class. It is extremely casual. I feel like most students are from the middle class. Most are not that politically aware/active.

Most people at UCSD are from California. there are some other out-of state people though.
A lot of people I meet are not really aware of politics. In classes, when professors ask about politics or current news, a lot of students cannot answer. People are more typically to the left if they pay attention to politics.

there is a group or club for everything. i am shocked by how many things go on at ucsd everyday. students generally wear comfortable clothes to class: jeans or sweats. most students are from somehwere in california.

There is a little bit of everyone.

UCSD is very open to all groups on campus and everyone can find their place. Our african-american population is small and most black students that I know are all in BSU and find a great community there. We also have a large asian population but all-in-all I think most people feel comfortable here. Classes are really casual, except maybe for the few sorority girls that have to get all done up for class. most students are from california. Generally it's just pretty diverse and people mix with different groups fairly well.
