bad advising, large lecture classes, poor availability of courses

I think the worst thing about my school is the big size of the classes. Some of my really important major classes have hundreds of students and it gets hard to find some time to meet and discuss questions with my teacher. Sometimes there are so many people who come to office hours that you it's more of a waste to go and wait then to find some other form of help. It would be nice to have a better relationship with my teachers.

Being one face in a sea of a million faces can be good and bad- It is very easy to slip away from studies because there are so many students. Also, the gen eds that are offered do not really provide much of a "general education" rather classes that you just have to get through.

I believe the worst thing about the campus is the violence and crime in the Tucson area. The University of Arizona is in a poor neighborhood of Tucson and many students have had peeping toms, break-ins, sexual harassment, and muggings. Although they are working on crime and safety all the time, the Tucson Police should be focusing more on crimes and violence in the area rather than giving students MIP's. It is more important to catch bad people than pull over kids walking home at night time.

The worst thing about this school would have to be the test dates of some of the classes and how they schedule tests on the same day. I believe this should never happen because it is hard enough to complete the school work while studying for two tests on the same day.

The lack of originality, the school is full of clones wearing mini skirts and ugg boots. Basically, it's all sorority and fraternity kids, they are at college to party, not learn.

I really love the University of Arizona, but since I'm from Chicago, Illinois, I would have to say the distance from home. Sometimes I get homesick and wish it was easier for me to see my family more often. I also don't like how Gen-Ed professors don't seem to engage the class and they often don't seem passionate about what they're teaching. Otherwise, I have nothing negative to say about the university.

Well, I would say the worst thing about my school would be nothing as I have never had a complaint with their methods. I find the classes interesting and so far all the classes I have taken were very worth my time and money. Overall, I am happy with this school.

The worst thing that I encountered while attending this school was the level of difficulty when it came to getting into the classes you needed in order to obtain your degree. On many different occasions the class would fill up so quickly and it was hit or miss attending the first day of class to see if the professor would sign you in. It was definitely frustrating and quite a hassle.

They keep raising tution, and it is horrible. Espeically during a time like this when our economy is in no better shape than some of our wallets. Yet, as a matter of fact, UofA has planned to raise tuition yet again for the 2009 semester and forward. College students who are on loans, or have limited financial aid will be at risk, and students like me who are out of state will just end up paying more out of the a$$. The tuition increase for out of state is around 2,300. Yes, getting an education has a price...
