Some dorms are more social then others but most of them are social and willing to meet new people. A lot of people are still friends with their friends from high school. Especially if they are from Phoenix. Every year there is Homecoming and Spring Fling and sororities and fraternities are a big part of campus and is very competitive.

The Greek community at U of A is very strong. Athletic events are extremely popular, our student sections are always full! We have a great live theater, as well as a movie theater right on campus. The dating scene is very fun, as there is a lot to do on and around campus. Some activities I enjoy are bowling, going to the movies, going camping, rock climbing and swimming just to name a few.

We have a wonderful rec center that a lot of people go to exercise at everyday. Weekends usually consist of partying, we have a lot of those. However the library is always filled with students on the weekdays. Also there are always hiking trails that people go on.

Christina

The social life is amazing. There is always something going on and something to do, even if it's just having a movie night. There is never a dull moment at this university.

When I lived in the dorms I often left my dorm room door open and I think it depends on which dorm you live in for how much students interact. When I lived in VDP there were the social people who would come in and chat or hang out for a bit and there were people who would barely ever look you in the eye when you passed them in the halls. In Manzi Mo my freshman year my floor was awesome but the rest of the dorm is mostly fine arts so really only knew and hung out with people on my floor since the artsy people were pretty distant and weird. Greek life is definitely a huge part of Arizona, but its definitely not required to have a good time. I rushed as a sophomore and had plenty of fun before joining a fraternity, but have a different experience these days than I had had before joining. Greek or not if you're up for it you can manage to party 3 days a week or more, with Thursdays mostly being a bar night and Fridays and Saturdays being house parties or apartment parties. Off campus has plenty of activities depending on what you're into, there are two malls fairly close, bowling alley, 4th avenue has a lot of unique stores and bars as well as eateries.
