What is the stereotype of students at Unity College? Is this stereotype accurate?

Jeffery

I mean, I guess because of its small size, sterotypes are easy to go around. Many people classify, due to major and extracurricular activites if you are a "hunter" or a "hugger." This sterotype has been around of years, I suppose. Sure, it could be obvious of who is what sterotype, but at the end of the day we are all civil. No one is really excluded because of these so-called sterotypes. Most people are friends with what extracurricular activites tey are interested in, so in a school this size, sterottypes and cliques are pretty easy to make up. I, and most others, have friends in both groups. If you seclude yourself to one group, than it is your own fault.

Id say there are a lot of stereo types at the school, the two main ones are hunters and huggers, hunters being as you think, hunters and huggers are tree huggers/ hippies/ environmental steward/advocates. Then theres woodsmen, frisbee captive kids, rpg, and all slews in between. When i first came here it seemed like you had to choose and choose wisely, but thats not the case. I have friends from all of the groups and for the most part everyone is accepting of everyone. There are clicks everywhere, but they dont usually get in the way of people coming together or being friends.

There are two main, and completely true, stereotypes at Unity college followed by a sub-main group. The first man group is the hunters. At Unity there is a major called Conservation Law Enforcement. This major is comprised almost entirely of men who love to hunt. They are usually from a secluded neighborhood and don't know much other than hunting. In the morning you can find them in the cafeteria in full hunting gear and face paint eating breakfast. They are, in my opinion, the "cops of the woods." They can't drink, smoke, or do anything illegal so they are all very strict. On the other hand, there are the huggers. This group is comprised of extreme know-it-all liberals and people who don't shower for weeks at a time. Most of these people have dreadlocks, smoke a lot of rolled cigarettes, and smell really bad. They also aren't shy to shove their opinions down your throat. And even though they preach an all-loving mentality, they completely segregate themselves from the rest of the population. The subgroup I mentioned is comprised of teenage girls who just graduated from high school and want to play with animals. They are all in the Wildlife Conservation and Biology major and hope to be zookeepers. They are extremely immature, loud, social-bees with their heads barely hanging on. Among the huggers and the subgroups is a small but ever-so-prevalent group of in-your-face man-hating self-righteous girls. None of them like to treat themselves well, nor are they afraid of standing out. For a school that preaches understanding there is just as much bias as any jock-and-cheerleader school.
