I have grown for my experience over the past 2 years. I have learn that in order to be great at any thing in life , I must start with my- self. I went back to college because, I wanted better my-self. I have learnd, by being my true- self ,and learning to accept others as they are make me a better person; at the same time helping other as well. I really like Kilian Community College that I attend. The staff there really makes a person feel welcome, no matter what the age of the person. Unlike some college out there, a student must fit withn a certain group. I know this because, I went to a college before that all the students there was under 20 years in age. Looking back over the time, I have spent there at Kilian community College, I would not have trade it for any thing in the world. I know now, I can go further to reach a higher goal in life with my education. That its never too late to go back to college and reaching my goals.

The most valuable aspect of my college experience has been the opportunity to come out of my shell and become highly involved in projects, organizations, groups as well as continue pursuing my career goal of becoming a doctor. I have gained countless friends and have had the chance to network at conferences and on campus events. The privilege of having an education is worth more than any dollar amount and my education has not only been in Microbiology but also in life and the many social situations I will probably find myself in the future.

Going to college is an amazing experiance. Attending college has given me the opportunity to meet new people and learn skills that will stick with me throughout my career. Out of my college experience, I have gained the ability to cope, understand, and adapt. This applies not just to school, but to life. A wake up call is what I was promised, and its exactly what I received. College has taught me to grow up, and to take some serious responsibility in my life; However, I still have a long way to go! I'm like a toddler, waddling along through this unknown world that I'm pretty new to. I'm not a baby anymore, but I still have to learn to waddle before I can run, and college? Its got the guide lines to get me ready for the track that is life.

I have been able to allow college to go through me while passing through college. I have met different people of different quality. I have learnt not to stop at the top but to always push for more and keeping soaring above the limits. Pacticipating in activities in college as helped to opened my heart and let me explore it like a padora box. I value college mostly because I want to get a degree and a career. Also, college prepare one so the real world and working environment through working, studying and plating with other students. College is the only place to receive a two way package for me; learn about life as it is and get a degree.

From my college experience, I have gained valuable skills in succesful studying methods and in hands-on lab practices. I have also learned great time management skills. Although my studying methods were not horrible before college, I had to learn how to take notes without writing nearly every word the professor said. I learned how to outline and diagram class content, and how to use it in a structured problem-solving session outside of class. For most of my life, I have preferred learning through hands-on methods. College allowed me to refine my preference and I am now capable of performing experiments with high yield and purity. Throughout college, I have struggled with time management. College was several magnitudes more difficult than high school, so I had to adjust to the quicker pace that college courses offered. My obsession with high test scores allowed me to adapt to the fast pace of college. I enjoy learning at this rate and I feel much more alive and independent for participating in college. In conclusion, I look forward to attending a 4-year university and pursuing the highest level of education possible. The learning opportunities are endless.

“Somewhere over the rainbow Skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.” On the other side of my rainbow is to become a doctor and I feel that passion to help others. I have worked very hard to achieve where I am today. I feel that I have something to offer society, and want to continue to be further educated in my area, Medical Physics. I have become a stronger, organized, and responsible young woman. I have been steered by many teachers to no give up on my dream, and they have shown me that it is never too hard and not impossible to achieve my dream. I will continue to conquer my dream. As Buddha once said “It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles.”

Unfortunately for me I have learned that the world is unkind and that my school is part of that world, this has been a valuable experience however because I have learned how to handle myself in this world and I have also learned to say "no" which is something I had never been able to do before. This school is not all bad it does have its good points because it is demanding with how the students learn and that is good. It is just too bad that is puts so much emhasis on its sports curriculum more than on the actual educational side. If I had been able to go out of state to school I probably would have however this was my only choice at the time that I started college.
