In high school, my parents payed all my bills in order for me to concentrate on my studies and become a doctor like i always wanted to. I took their effort for granted and i joined bad company, started drinking and partying, little did i realize that, i was driving myself down the drain and my dream to become a doctor wasn't going to be offered to me on a platter of gold. I got into a serious car accident with my friends because we were drunk and driving. I broke my spinal cord and had to go into surgery. My parents became indebted with hospital bills and they could'nt support me anymore. I had to work different jobs to support myself. i couldnt go to medical school because i was working three jobs to support myself. I was able to get into business school since it had flexible hours. I lost my passion to be a doctor. if i could go back in time i would advice myself to avoid bad company and stick to my books because It is not easy to work so much hours and go to college as well.

There many fortunate events in my current life that I am grateful for. As a father who have struggled to survive and to give my son a better life, I sometime think about the type of student I was and imagine going back to act differently. I have never been an average student, yet I was never completed. If going back in in time, I would challenge myself to achieve higher grades and to focus on specific tasks and avoid being careless. I wanted to be a Medical doctor, yet I was afraid to defy my goal, to be confident. As a high school student, I have never realized that I can go stronger and achieve greater. If I could go back, I would conquer my fears, achieve dreams, and repair potential aspects in my life, instead of focusing on my older brothers’ achievements, I would rather focus on my own content not on the detriments of my success: being reliant on family concerns than to set achievable goals. I have learned that I can do anything and everything in life; to never give up, always try, and to ask when I cannot do or find the answers to something.

Don't go to culinary school for one. Also, make it a point to develop good study habbits because college isn't like high school, where you can sit in class and listen and still get a good grade. Also, don't be scared of science classes, they're actually quite interesting even if they arn't easy. Apply for scholarships while in high school, do more extra caricular activities, and don't worry about getting a job so much.

I would tell myself to study harder and get good grades. When you do good, there are a lot more organizations out there willing to help, such as Florida Bright Futures.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself in high school, I would tell myself to take the LPN program, I have always wanted to study Nursing after high school. Back when I was in high school I thought that it was a little bit uncool to be wearring scrubs, I just told myself that I would wait until I graduate high school to get in to Nursing. Now that I'm 23 years old in the Nursing RN program I feel a little bit behind, I always tell myself until this day, " if I had been in the LPN program in high school, I would have been graduated and working. I learned a big lesson, I should have listened to my instincts back in high school. If I could go back to high school and talk to myself, I would have told myself to take life more seriously because you only have one life, so make the best of it. Now I know what I want and I just went right ahead and took the opportunity because I only have one chance. If I knew then, what I know now, I would not waste any time.

The best advice will be: Do not Waste anytime and be very focus on my studies. College education is very important for anybody who wants to be successful in life. My major is Marketing and I know that there are many opportunities in this field. Hopefully I'll be graduating in two years and my chances of getting a good paying job will be good. By then the economy will be good and the financial institutions will be in better shape. I will be very happy and bless if I win this scholarship. I recently had to resign my job beacuse I was given too many hours to work and I couldn't focus on my studies. I have many bills to pay and I have many debts but I realized now that getting a Degree is more important than working low paying jobs with no future. Thank you for helping young people financially so they can persue a higher education. Erik Thebeau
