Stonehill College Top Questions

Before coming to Stonehill, I wish that I had taken more time to talk to the current students. I have a very rough transition to college - homesickness, roommate problems, the whole 9yards. I believe that talking to current students to better understand the social life and roommate aspects of campus (things I could not learn just from a campus tour) would have better prepared me for life at Sonehill.

Before I came to this school I wish I would have really thought about my financial situation here. I really love the school and I do not want to transfer but taking about a lot of loans is only going to hurt me in the future. My parents did not attend college so I did not really have that much help with figuring out the right financial situation for me. I wish I would have known how it was going to negatively affect me.

There is not a lot to do in the surrounding towns. The school is very small and similar to the social aspects of high school.

I wish I knew how much of a time commitment playing varsity tennis would be, and how much it would effect my participation in other extracaurricular activities.

I wish I had known how strict the school was.

Experiences of more commuters

How dead the campus can be on the weekends, and how boring the surrounding area can be. If you don't have a car, you're pretty much screwed.

Get involved right away and don't be afraid to try out different classes and different activities. The career services office is a great place to familiarize yourself with - early on. When it snows for the first time, students go sledding down the hill with cafeteria trays. The party scene isn't too crazy, and since it's mostly on campus and off campus parties it can get repetitive if you are a person who needs a change.
