My school, Spring Arbor University, is very unique. One of the things that led me to SAU is the CORE 100 class. Core is a class that only has about fifteen students, along with your core instructor and your PA (Peer Advisor). A PA is an upperclassmen who is always there for you if you need someone to talk to. In core we discuss important issues that go along with becoming an adult; those include success, identity, faith, heritage, and relationships. Now that the semester is almost over I am glad that SAU requires this class.

There is a stong community feel to the school, the student body is rather small. The quality of teaching and easy accessability to professors is one of the best aspects about Spring Arbor.

The school I am currently attending does a great job of making new students feel welcome. Spring Arbor University has a unique program called Core. When you arrive on campus as a freshman you are put into a Core group with about ten other freshman. This program is great because you instantly have ten other friends who are going through the same thing you are. The Core group includes a professor whom you get to know, and one student leader that is there to guide you. This program provides six classes that will stretch you in so many ways.

My school is based on four principles that guide our learning process: We are a community of learners distinguished by our lifelong involvement in the study and application of the liberal arts, total commitment to Jesus Christ as the perspective for learning, and critical participation in the contemporary world. Every course is based on these principles. This is very unique to any school I have researched and I believe that it helps guide our learning so that we are focused, especially on being critical participants in the contemporary world.

Spring Arbor is a Faith based school but is not directly affiliated with any certain religion. This gives the University a great deal of diversity.

They are very focused on building a community based student population. They really make you feel like all the students and staff are a family. They really show a lot of love to their students. I also appreciate the small class sizes. You can really feel like the teacher knows you and is interested your life and work. I think this is an amazing school.
