Through my college experience I have encountered some challenges and obstacles that I had been faced with and through determination, strength and hard work I have succeeded. Attending college will allow you to obtain a better life and one will obtain knowledge that they will take with them for the rest of there life.

I value learning most of all. I believe that there is no greater blessing than knowledge. College has been a great learning experience, it has taught me how to value different cultures and religious backgrounds. It has taught me how to work in groups, delegate task, and how to compromise with others. I'm a junior in the Nursing program and I have to admit I have learned more than I could of imagined thus far. I have witnessed childbirth, open heart surgery, and saving a persons life; I am truly greatful for the experience I have recieved from attending this school. I also, value the teachers because they have worked in the field for many years and it has been a blessing to have received a great amount of knowledge from them. Overall, I value attending South University because it has helped me mature and grow in many aspects and for that I am forever thankful.

I am a mother and wife returning back to school. I am fortunately able to transfer some of my prior college credits. I didn't finish college 20 years ago and have been home with my children for the last18 years. I am now in a position with my family that I am able to take the time for myself and continue my education. It took me several months of research to decide which field to pursue. I have decided on Physical Therapy for my AS degree at South University. After much research, I feel that this field will be a perfect match. I will be able to take my years of experience as a mother to help in dealing with and encourage my patients to healing and recovery. I , of course, now need to complete the education part. Being that I am a mother of an 18 year old, who will also going to college, and a special needs 9 year old, getting a grant to assist in paying for school is necessary. This essay was suppose to be how school has been valuable to me, but I am just starting so I thought "why" might be more interesting.

Being a homeschooled student up untill I attended college the whole experience of just attending a class room has been rewarding. Also taking so many different college courses has led me to the path that I know I will be happiest in by giving me a broad background in many subjects. Overall I couldn't have asked for a more enlightening experience into the whole college experience.

I am currently earning a degree in nursing (BSN) and I have attended several institutions to complete my pre-requisites before learning about South University. At South University I have received superior education with a dedicated staff and faculty. Because we are a relatively small school we are more like a family. During my college experince thus far I have had the pleasure of meeting many different people from diffrerent cultural backgrounds and experiences. This is valuable to me because not only Im I learning to be a nurse, I am learning about the wonderful things I can experience in life through others experiences. For instance, I have met previous military men and women who have lived through the current Iraqui Freedom war like myself. I have met several students with previous degrees and are back to school for nursing because of the recession our country is currently undergoing. I have met others that had a near death experience and decided it was time to make a change in their lives. Being in college has been an experience of a life time and one that will always stay with me and help me make better decisions in my own life.

My education process came to a complete halt and now there I was trying finding a way to get back in school. I was now in student debt for over $10,000 with no degree or certificate at hand to show for it. With guidance on how to receive financial help for school I was completely and frustrated with how my life was changing.Meanwhile, my dedication to further my education had not faded, but was depressing to know I had nowhere to turn for financial support. Attempting to quickly start my career ans knowig how important education is, I entered a technical school putting me further in student debt of about $15,000 more, however, I was determined to continue. I knew that giving up was not an option.Eventually my education process began to progress and before I knew it I had completed Medical Assisting school successfully making the president list and having perfect attendance. Although I accomplished one of my major career goals my debt had grown tremendously. I am now one step closer to my initial career and continue to aim for success. I will not stop until I accomplish my degree as a Nurse.

I have gotten a new lease on life by going back to school. I've known the world of not having higher education and it's a life I no longer want. I have gotten so much support and "love" from people who hardly know me and it's the best thing a person with my history can have. I've gotten stronger and more confident and I'm sure that this is my road to a better life for myself and my daughter.
The value of school for me is beyond any knowledge gained or respect earned. It extends to the lesson(s) my daughter can gain from my attending and graduating from college. I'm raising my child on my own and I want for her to see that no matter what life throws your way, you can succeed and that dreams (with hard work) can come true. She's learning the importance of hard work and how stubborness can be a good thing to have. A side affect of being educated is that I will change my meaning of being a statistic. I'll be part of the group that gives hope and promise to the world.

In this essay, I will discuss what I have obtained from college experiences and why has it been valueable to attend. Before attending college, I was very nervous of what college would be like. I thought to myself if I was ready and mature enough to attend college ;and if I was going to be able to make it to graduation day. I prepared myself mentally during the summer, and hope to be ready by the beginning of the fall semester.
When school started in the fall, I felt like an adult resposible and mature enough to be in college. When first day of college came to an end , I was feeling positive and full of energy. After months passed, I started to build this inner emotion of responsibility. My homework and papers were a priority to me before everything. If I didn?t have my homework finished, I stayed edindoors till it was completed.
Being in college has been one of the most grateful experiences that have impacted my life. I did not just learn responsibility but that I had obligations that I needed to meet in order to be a successful student and in life.
