Shepherd University-Shepherdstown Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about Shepherd University-Shepherdstown? Why?

Allison

The worst thing about my school would have to be the price. I know getting a college education is not cheap, however coming from a single-parent family, money is tight and living on campus is not the most affordable thing. I wish more financial aide was available to me, so that living on campus could be more affordable to me and those that come from the same family/income situation that I do.

Crystal

The worst thing about Shepherd University is the student population during the weekends. The student body doesn't seem to want to get involved in the activities on campus, so instead they leave to go home every weekend. There is nothing wrong with wanting to go home, but it seems like a ghost town from Friday night to Sunday night. It's not always a bad thing, but the school knows this happens and as a result plans accordingly. For example, only the dining hall offers food because there aren't enough students to serve anything else.

Rachel

How many commuters are present, and the amount of student that leave of the weekend.

Alex

It's size. Lots to do in the area but the campus can seem quite small sometimes. Many students are commuters and go home on the weekends so your freshman year it's hard to find something to do on the weekends. But once you find your niche, the weekends are the best time of the week.

Stephanie

Food Choices, and Parking! Its hard to find parking and they ticket every 90min for anything!

Kevin

The parking that the university has for commuters is terrible.

Mary

The worst thing about Shepherd University it the availability of parking.
