Someone who is looking for a party school should not attend this school. Saint Mary's does not have sororities or fraternities. Someone who is looking for a high populated school with a lot of diversity should not attend Saint Mary's. Our students and faculty are diverse however, not as diverse compared to a state college with a higher population. Saint Mary's is also a religous school. Someone who does not want this aspect should not attend this school. Although religous viewpoints are not pressured onto students every student is required to take one religoius course.

Anyone who likes a quiet, beautiful atmosphere. The campus is serene and breathtaking. The workload is rather heavy. Seminar classes (everyone has to take at least two of them) require a ton of reading. The class size is very small, at most 20 students. The college is very expensive (approximately 50,000 dollars per year.) Campus is very well kept. Great location in Northern California, 30 minutes from San Francisco. The faculty is helpful and in most cases accomodating.

Someone who does not want to get a well rounded education, small classes, in class discussions, community feel, or a small school.

Almost anyone can find something they like about Saint Mary's. It is difficult for me to say what kind of person would not enjoy their time spent here. I would say someone who does not like interacting with people should not attend Saint Mary's. I say this because at Saint Mary's one will not find lecture halls filled with 300 students, but they will find small, intimate class settings.

I think that a person who is unprepared and not willing to work hard for their dreams should not attend this school.

The type of person that should not attend this school is someone who is lazy and expects college to be only a social environment filled with endless partying. Also, someone who does not wish to give back to the community or help our environment would not do well at St. Mary's. In order to graduate from St. Mary's a student will have to put in countless hours of hardwork and also show a great deal of dedication and commitment.

This school is rather small and in a residential and relatively family centered town. If you are someone who likes big cities then this is not the right school for you. Also, this school does emphasize religion and classes based on religion are required, so if you are not open minded or do not have religuous beliefs this may not be the school for you either. Lastly, seminar classes are required, and demand lots of participation, reading, and paper writing. Although many people like seminar, if you do not like talking in class then you wont like this college.

An eager student with an open mind. St. Mary's College of California allows you to have an incredible experience with the best academic and career advice and learning.

If you are looking for a place in the middle of the bustling city, if you're looking for a place with 100+ person classes where you blend into the crowd, if you aren't serious about getting an education, or if you think college won't be any work, St. Mary's College is not for you.
