Describe the students at Saint Louis University.

Nikki

A lot of SLU students are from St. Louis or the surrounding area (MO, IL, KS, TN...). As annoying as that sounds, it's kind of nice cause there's always someone's house you can chill at over breaks or just go to for a good home cooked meal. Even though there are a lot of conservatives, most everyone is respectful of the differences between people (LGBT, race, age, etc.)

The student body is pretty diverse. It may not be as diverse as I sometimes wish, but there are wealthy and lower- middle class students, people very religious, and others not, a diversity of religions from catholic, or other Christian religions, to Hindi, Muslim, and so on. LGBT is present on campus and pretty accepted I feel, but then again, I’m not LGBT so I don’t know how accepted they feel. Students even vary in what they wear to class, how politically aware they are and what political affiliation they have. I would probably say though that SLU is a pretty liberal campus. We have "floppy socked" Jesuits walking around and I love it! haha. There is a pretty large liberal population here, but there are some pretty rich people also who tend to be more republican.
