I came into QU as a business student, so I can really speak best about that. The business school gets a ton of opportunities for the students, from mock career fairs, real career fairs, mock interviews, guest speakers, and classes on must-knows of the business field. Another benefit to it being a smaller school is the professors know you and call on you, by name.

Becuase the classes are small and professors teach all classes, the professors get to know each student very well. Most professors give their home or cell phone numbers to students and encourage them to call with any questions or concerns.
Because classes are so small, class participation is encouraged and most classes are discussion based, not lecture based. Attendance is also taken into consideration for many classes.

Most professors know names. My favorite classes are my sciences (Chemistry, Biology) which is ironic because they were the ones I was most scared about! Certain classes such as QU seminars and English classes require class participation but those classes are usually so small (10-20 students) and comfortable that no one has a problem talking. I do not think students are competitive at all, most people try to help each other. I have met with one professor outside of class just for help on an essay-- I recommend it with a tough grader. I think the academic requirements are reasonable, I am in Nursing and must maintain a 3.0-- I don't think people with less than a B average should be administering medicine in a hospital! A 3.0 is not as easy as it seems though, I had no problem getting all A's, and here it is kind of tough to maintain even B's in some classes, but you definitely learn study tricks as you go along. Education is very career oriented-- at some other colleges my friends are taking all these unneccessary core classes, yet all my classes are geared to my major (with the exception of 2 or 3).

Class sizes are small and professors get to know you. They are an email away and are always willing to meet for extra help. You are definitley able to develop close relationships with these people and they are inspiring.
I study every day for at least 4-6 hours. The nursing program is very competitive, but I love it. I knew it was going to be a lot of work when I entered as a freshman. The professors want you to succeed, but they don't hold your hand. You realize what you need to do in order to learn as much as you can and they help along the way.
QU offers one of the few "Holistic" nursing programs in the nation. They teach students to treat the patient as a whole person (physical, chemical, emotional, psychological, etc.) and not just by the disease they have. I believe every school should teach their nursing students to care for their patients holistically.
The program requires you to maintain a 3.0 average every semester and overall (accumulative). You must maintain at least a C or above in all science/nursing classes.

Most professors know my name, i have yet to have a lecture class. My favorite class is Journalism 160 because i can be creative while learning how to write correctly. I do not study all that much, but i know that anyone in a Health Sciences major studies a lot. Class participation is pretty common, even in the early morning classes. Many professors know how to get students to discuss ideas. Sometimes I walk past students who are talking about elections and things outside of class, but no one really seems to want to because that involves "school." I feel like students are competitive, especially when it comes to clubs like Student Government, but not so much in classes. The most unique class I have taken would be my EN102 class because we learn about topics such as sexism, racism, and controversial things as opposed to boring readings. I am a broadcast journalism major and a sports minor. I am extremely happy with all the classes so far in those fields and cannot wait to take more. I do not spend time with the professors out of class but they all are very good about e-mailing me if i need their help. Even though it is tedious and annoying, i think it is better to be well-rounded and specialized, however i do not know why i need to take a science. I feel that the education is geared towards getting a job because everything you are learning is about the real world and things you will need to know for a real job.

Since the school is not too large, the classes stay fairly small. Most classes are 25 people, although some of the science classes are up to 35 people or so. The labs are small with about 10-15 people usually. The library is open 24/7 which is very helpful. Professors are often readily available to help outside of the class. The health science fields are often fairly competetive and challenging. The library also has study rooms for students to study in groups for tests and work on projects.

Classes aren't too easy and not too hard. Business school is very good and prepare you for the real world.

The professors here are great and make themselves very available to you, some of them even give you there home number and email so that you can reach them whenever you have a question.

Every professor I have had so far knows my name and I have not had a class larger than 30 people, which I love. Class participation is something that has been important in almost all of my classes, which I don't mind because I enjoy class discussions.

The classes here tend to run small, which is good. My biggest class so far has been a little less than 30 students, and most are around 20. Most professors learn names pretty quickly, because since the classes are so small there's always some degree of participation. I'm a history major, and my favorite professor so far has been one of my history professors. He helped me out with a scholarship I'm in the running for, and he definitely taught me a lot.
