To some extent, most students do come from wealthy backgrounds, however, there are upper middle class students here. Students do go out on the weekends and there are always many parties going on, but I thought that the partying would be much more on campus. Most parties and drinking occur off campus or in New Haven.

It's true some people look like they just jumped out from behind the glass at one of those stores, but not everyone is like that. Some of us are still wearing our Gap jeans from 3 years ago and enjoy a good bargain at Marshalls and TJ Maxx. And yes, some of the students are wealthy, but I know a heck of a lot more kids who are getting by on financial aid rather than mom and dad's money.
