A good start to your education. I know many people that decided to take two years at prairie state and then transfer. It is super easy to transfer credits from this school. I got a lot out of their Early College Programs. It prepared me to go on to a bigger university with a ton of confidence. Not only that, but I can tell that most of the people actually care for your well being. The professors listen to students and they offer free food and items all the time. My experience at this college was a major factor in deciding to attend a four year university.

I feel that Prairie State is a very good school to get your pre-requisites out of the way. There are a few ways to get involved and to get more out of your experience. For me I am in the Black Student Union here, as well as Phi Theta Kappa. Just stay focused and remember that challenges can be overcome you just have to believe in yourself and your abilities.

D'Asia - 08/01/2019

Prairie State College is a great way to transition into college from high school. There are many opportunities to grow and connect to others in the school, in the community, or even career opportunities. I would recommend Prairie State College to all students.

Prairie state college is well known for its academic programs. They offer a great Nursing program as well as many others. There are many opportunities to get involved in activities such as sports and clubs. The “Latino” club offers many opportunities for students and the counseling department is amazing.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

There are so many things I wish I could tell myself. Specifically, I would convince myself to abandon Chemical Engineering because my heart isnt really in it. Music is what I want to do and I should focus on what makes myself happy. Also, I would tell myself to take that year more seriously because I will regret not working to my potential when it can still make a big difference. Go out and get that job and enjoy the social life instead of staying couped up in the house. I am powerful beyond measure and I should act like it. It'll pay off. I promise
