The university security is awful. The rules will cause your children to rebel. If they are already rebeling this is the wrong place to send them. Do your kids a favor and do not let them come here.

Lizzie

I definitely recommend any kind of stay-overnight-on-campus program. Prospective students really need to know what they are signing up for before they make the leap.

I say find a college that meets the child's personality. Don't go to a Christian University if you aren't willing to live by all of the rules, which aren't that bad. Be smart about your decision.

Take visits to your prospect schools. Ask questions and make friends in your classes. Join study groups!

I would tell parents and students to start looking into college before senior year of high school. I waited till then and felt stressed about finding a college. Also, if they are in need of financial aid, they should start applying for scholarships their junior year of high school and no later so that they can get as many scholarships as possible. As for making the most of their time at college, have fun but be serious. My freshman year of college I had alot of fun participating in campus events and hanging out with my new found friends but i also goofed off in class. I really hurt my GPA because i didnt do well my first year. Also it was hard to get into the habit of studying and doing homework because i had been so used to messing around. I'm going into my junior year now, and I've finally figured out ways to study and do homework. My main advise would be to remember that first and foremost you're going to college to get an education. That in mind, you'll be successful and have the time of your life.
