I wish I had known a little bit more about my financial aid package and the amount it would take to attend the school. It would have been helpful to know it is a little more expensive than most schools. I could have applied to scholarships and saved up money to pay for the remaining tutition instead of having my mother pay the rest so I could attend.

I guess I wish I had known that Learning Strategies was a required class for First Gen students. I hated the class. It was like a high school AVID class where they teach you crap that you should have learned in middle school or earlier, mainly about practicing good study habits and staying organized. I've been in honors classes all my life. As if I needed that class.

I wish I had known that they were going to close the mansion. Because of this, the music department has been disrupted. We no longer have practice rooms and limited rehearsal space. There is also only one cafiteria that closes at 7:30, making it dificult to get food after that time. To sum it up, I am not getting what I thought I would when I chose to come here. Because of this, I feel like I am paying too much for too few resources.

I wish I had known that there would be so many people here (staff and students) that are so eager to see me succeed. If I had known sooner about the places and activities on campus that thrive with these people, I would have become more involved with these areas sooner. Ever since being on the Orientation team on campus, nothing but good has happened to me because of the people that I have met.

I wish I would have known a few things: how loud the students are in the dorms, how little the cafeteria is open, and that there is no air conditioning. I find it really hard to sleep at night because students are running up and down the hallways. The cafeteria closes at 8, so when I have tennis work outs I have to go off campus to get food. Last, during the first two months on campus it was really hot and I wish I would have known to bring an air conditioner.

I wish I had known more about the university's extracurricular activites and clubs.

Before transferring mid-year to this school from a community college, I wish I would have known that when a student starts in the Spring semester and does not live on campus, it is a little more difficult to assimilate with the rest of the students. I have learned that participation in clubs is essential to meeting new people.

I wish I had know how frustrating it is to deal with financial aid at times. I wish someone had told me to just talk to my teachers and explain what was going on in my life becasue they are pretty forgiving and understand that life happens and school is not always the most important thing in the world.
