Find something that is going to compliment what it is you are seeking a degree in and make sure that the campus is safe, the faculty committed to student excellence and check the availability and location of on-campus and off-campus housing. Become good friends with your financial aid and academic advisors, this will make your attendance go much smoother as they will be able to guide you down the correct avenues.

The advice i would give to parents and students about finding the right college would be dependant upon what they are interested in. In my case i decided that i wanted to play womens soccer and i also wanted to major in Exercise science therefore i chose the school that was recruiting me and also had my major. The school isnt the biggest school but i like it because the classes are small and i can do what i love which is to play soccer. But to any individual i would advise them to choose a school that has their major, and one that they would more than likely want to stay at for four years because credits from one school wont always transfer to another. To my knowledge and experience to make the most of your college experience you have to be social if you dont play a sport you should join clubs and just get out there. College has the potential to be the greatest time of your life or one of the lonliest its all dependent on what one chooses.

Some advice that i would give to anyone looking for the right college is that its important to decide exactly what your looking for out of your school. Once an individual knows what they want from a college it will be easy for anyone to find the perfect school.

My advice to students looking to find the right college would be to do their research! You do not want to attend a school that you know nothing about. I would also highly recommend visiting and even spending a night at school that you are applying to. Doing these things are very helpful in deciding whether the school is a good fit for you. They also help you make friends before you are even at the school. Students should take their parents to the schools with them as well. Parents can be really helpful when it comes to making your final decision on which school to go to. Parents also like to be reassured that there child is going to be healthy, happy, and safe at the school they are going to. Students should look into the scholarships available at the schools they are applying to. You would not want to miss out on a scholarship that you are eligable for just because you did not know about it. My overall advice for parents and students looking into the right college for them is to do your homework! Find out everything you can about a school before you commit.

I would tell the parents and students that finding the right college is like shopping for a new car. When you buy a car you first look at all the different models. Then you narrow your choices down to just a few. Then you have to pick the car that best fits you. You have to sit in the driver's seat, play with the radio, check the heating and cooling systems and check out all the extras. After you check everything out and it all works for you, you put you signature on the line. That's the way you need to pick a college. You have to go visit the differnt campuses. You have to see and understand if this school offers what you want as a major. Then you have to check out all the extras (any special services). If you are going to invest in something that will affect the rest of your life you make sure that the fit is right for you. College is expensive just as a car is expensive and you want to get in something you wouldn't mind having to pay for in years to come.
